Diskette Names

The 3Server/500 Expansion Unit Guide refers to the 3Server/500,
3Server386 Utility diskette. This diskette has been renamed the
3Server Utility diskette.

Connecting a 3Server/500 Expansion Unit
to a 3Server386 Expansion Unit

The SCSI connectors on the back of a 3Server386 Expansion Unit
are mounted in slots that are just wide enough to accept the
connectors on the 3Server/500 Expansion Unit SCSI cable.

On some 3Server386 Expansion Units, the rear-panel SCSI
connectors are not mounted exactly in the center of the slot. If
you have difficulty connecting the cable, loosen the screws that
hold the SCSI connector to the 3Server386 Expansion Unit.

Mating the cable connector to the expansion unit connector will
center the expansion unit connector. Tighten the screws with the
connector centered.

Very small sheet-metal tabs are located next to the mounting
screws on the 3Server386 Expansion Unit SCSI connector. On your
expansion unit these tabs may be bent toward the connector,
preventing the cable connector from seating properly. Bend these
tabs away from the connector if necessary.

Connecting a 3Server/500 Expansion Unit
to a 386Upgrade Network Server

Very small sheet-metal tabs are located next to the mounting
screws on the 386Upgrade network server SCSI connector. On your
server these tabs may be bent toward the connector, preventing
the cable connector from seating properly. Bend these tabs away
from the connector if necessary.
