Title: Undocumented Parameters For 3+ 1.6 Version of NBA.EXE
Date: 2/1/91

Copyright 3Com Corporation, 1991. All rights reserved.

The 2/19/90 version of the adapter-resident NetBIOS program NBA.EXE
allows the use of /B and /F parameters. Release notes for 3+ 1.6 explain
the use of these parameters for NETBIOS.EXE but do not mention their use
with NBA.EXE.

The /B parameter is used to specify a Locator heartbeat period of
15 to 2000 seconds. Fifteen seconds is the default. On large networks,
extending the heartbeat period can help to avoid overloading the Locator.

The /F parameter is used to specify the Locator retry count. The default
value is 1. The /F parameter specifies the number of eight-packet retries
that will be attempted before the netstation considers the Locator inoperable
and sends out a broadcast.

The 2/19/90 version of NBA.EXE is included on the EtherLink Plus diskette,
P/N 7066-02.
