Title: Causes of INTERRUPT -E on a 3Server3
Date: 11/29/90

Copyright 3Com Corporation, 1991. All rights reserved.

Here are two reasons why a 3Server3 may display INTERRUPT -E on the LCD
when it is booted:

* The server was booted in normal operation mode with the thumbwheel set
to 1 and COM1 was configured. The INTERRUPT -E message will be displayed
just as Share begins to load. A thumbwheel setting of 1 is only used when
there is a terminal connected to COM1, to allow you to watch messages sent
to the screen as server application software loads.

* There is a bad COM port or serial cable. The INTERRUPT -E message will
be displayed on the LCD as Share starts to load and the COM port is being
initialized. If this is the cause of the error, use 3INS to disable the
suspect COM port, which will allow the server to boot.
