Title: Running 3+ Mail Under Windows3 In Enhanced 386 Mode
Date: 8/10/90

Running 3+ Mail under Windows3 in enhanced 386 mode requires a properly
configured PIF (Program Information File) for 3+ Mail to operate correctly.
Users who run Windows3 in enhanced 386 mode attempt to run 3+ Mail without
a PIF file or with a PIF file configured to launch 3+ Mail in standard mode,
may experience internal errors 100, 382, 400, and 538. These errors indicate
SPP packet processing failures and timeouts.

Configure a PIF file using the PIF editor included with Windows3. Your PIF
file can call MAIL.EXE or a batch file. If a batch file is called, the
"Optional Parameters" and "Startup directory fields" do not need to be
entered. The following example of a PIF file for 3+Mail assumes that
MAIL.EXE is being called directly:

Mode: 386 Enhanced
Program: Mail.exe
Windows Title: (Optional; this identifies the icon.)
Optional Parameters: Enter the parameters you use to start 3+ Mail.
                      For example: \displaytype=b \folders=e:\inbox
(This starts 3+ Mail in color and supplies a path
                      to your MAIL.DIR file.)
Startup Directory: Supply the directory where you start 3+Mail from.
Display Usage: Full Screen (Windowed will not work.)
Execution: Exclusive (Background will not work.)
Advanced Options: Do not need to be specified.
