Title: Resetting Video With EtherLink 16 Adapter
Date: 4/3/91

Copyright 3Com Corporation, 1991. All rights reserved.

The RAM base address on the EtherLink 16 adapter can conflict with areas in
high DOS memory. Configuring the adapter's RAM base address at certain
memory segments will cause problems with the video, making it impossible to
view the screen. This is due to an area in high DOS that is used for
additional video ROMs.

The default setting for the EtherLink 16's RAM base address is 0D0000, but
the address can be set from 0C0000 through F80000. Video resides from A000
to C000 and additional video may reside from C000 to C600 or C800.

When the adapter conflicts with the video, the proper procedure to recover
the screen is to turn off the workstation, turn it on again, and then
continue to reconfigure the adapter. Merely resetting the computer will
not correct the problem.
