A problem in the ETH503.SYS device driver dated 7/10/87 may cause
Etherlink II adapters following revision ASSY 2227-03 to operate
improperly with PC netstations using Award BIOS. (Prior
revisions of the adapter operate correctly when used with the
same netstation configuration.)

The problem was verified by 3Com CSO using a Texas Instruments
955 personal computer manufactured by Acer Co., Model 915, with
one MB of memory, an 80287 coprocessor, Award 3.03A BIOS, and
running MS-DOS 3.30. Other PCs with Award BIOS and similar
configurations may also be affected.

After RUNMINDS is executed, the PC stops until it is rebooted.
The failure may produce no error messages; or, the message
"parity error" may be displayed on the netstation.

3Com will release a new 3C503 device driver to enable the adapter
to work correctly with PCs using Award BIOS.
