Title: Cause of OS/2 Error 303 and Failure to Start Server

The 3+Open LAN Manager server service scans all available drives at server
startup time so that the server service knows which administration sharenames
to create (such as C$ and D$).

To scan all of the drives, OS/2 must read them. This will cause a problem if
any partitions on your hard drives are not formatted. When OS/2 is unable
to read the partition, it sends OS/2 error 303 during server startup, which
causes the server to fail to start. Then, because OS/2 error 303 is not
listed in OS/2's message file, OSO001.MSG, you will also see another error
message indicating that OS/2 cannot find message 303.

To avoid the errors, make sure all partitions on your hard drives are
formatted before trying to install 3+Open.
