To use separator files on a PostScript printer under 3+Open, follow
these steps:

1.  Run Netsetup.

2. From the main menu, choose Configure Network Printers.

3. Enter the appropriate values for the screens that follow: the path
to 3+Open, the path to STARTUP.CMD, and the path to MODE.COM.

The Printer Configuration Menu will be displayed.

4. Choose Manage Separator Page Files.

5. Choose Create New Separator Page File.

6. Give your separator page file a name such as PSCRIPT.SEP. Do NOT
enter a reset sequence filename.

You will be returned to the Manage Separator Page Files screen with the
PSCRIPT.SEP file now shown.

7. Return to the main Netsetup menu, then exit Netsetup.

You must now tell the PostScript despooler that you want to use the
separator file you just created.

8. Run the Net Admin application, choose Print Queues from the View menu,
and select the server you want to modify.

9. When the queue list window appears, highlight the queue you want to
change and Zoom on it.

As per the standard configuration for the PostScript despooler, the
following parameters should already be set:

Priority = 5
Printer device(s) = NUL
Print processor = C:\3OPEN\SERVER\LANMAN\SERVICES\PSDSPL.EXE
Parameters = PHYSDEV=COMx where x is the com port number.

10. Add a SEPFILE= parameter to the parameters line. It should look
like this:

Parameters = PHYSDEV=COMx SEPFILE=PSCRIPT.SEP

Note: Type in all uppercase letters. Use a space (not a comma or a
colon) to separate the parameters.

If you want to change the standard banner page created by your new
separator page file, see the 3+Open MS OS/2 LAN Manager Administrator's
Guide, page 5-10, for the functions you can use.
