Title: Using the Microcom AX9624 Modem with 3+Route 1.3.1
Date: 10/2/89

If you have a Microcom 9624 or similar modem, you may have noticed
that it does not work with 3+Route 1.3.1. Although 3Com does not
officially support this modem, you can make it work with 3+Route.

When 3+Route is installed, it automatically uses the ACP.SYS
driver copied from the 3+ 1.3.1 or 1.5 Installation #2 (Drivers) diskette.
This file is dated 11-10-87 with a file size of 32,528 bytes.
This version will not work with the Microcom modem.

On the 3+Route 1.3.1 diskette, there is a version of ACP.SYS dated
4-24-87 with a file size of 33,280 bytes. This version will work
with the Microcom modem. Copy the ACP.SYS file from the 3+Route
diskette to the C:\3DRIVERS subdirectory of your server, reboot,
and you should be able to use the Microcom 9624 modem with
3+Route.

Note that the Hayes V-Series 9600 modem is supported with the
ACP.SYS driver dated 11-10-87. If you replace it with the older
version, you will not be able to use your V-Series 9600 in that
server.

This procedure may also work with other modems that worked with
earlier versions of 3+Route and not the current version of
3+Route.
