Title: Connecting to an Asynchronous Host on a Remote LAN

Note: This topic applies to both MCPU-12 and MCPU-20 based products--the
GS/1-XNS and GS/X.25-XNS respectively. In the following discussion, both
products will be referred to as the "GS."

The following example describes a connection from a terminal on the local
LAN to an asynchronous host on a remote LAN via more than one GS over a
PDN. This example uses the Interconnection Service of two GSs.

A user at the terminal on the local Ethernet can establish a connection
to an asynchronous host on a remote Ethernet using the following
command:

    Connect Host

"Host" is a clearinghouse name defined on any Communication Server as
follows:

Host = &<Remote XNS Network ID>%<Remote Comm Server Ethernet
           address> !<rotary portid>

In this case, the connection request can be passed transparently to the
user through one or more GSs over the PDN.
