Title: How to Manage TCP Communication Servers Over the Network

The current TCP software for Communication Servers does not support
a system management port. (In XNS, port 136 is used for system management.)
To change port configurations for a Comm Server on the network, you can
attach a terminal to a terminal port on the Comm Server, or you can change
the port over the network by following the steps below. This procedure also
allows you to control the Comm Server by other workstations that support
Telnet, such as Sun workstations or PCs:

1. Set Port 1 as a Host with IP address 130.1.1.1.

2. Set Port 3 as a Terminal with IP address 130.1.1.3, and UseDTRin=Ignore.

3. Connect Ports 1 and 3 with a cable (crosswired pin 2 and 3):

                    Comm Server
               port 1 port 3
                2 3 2 3
                | |___________| |
                |_________________|

4. Make a connection or Telnet session to 130.1.1.1 (Port 1) over the
network or at the Comm Server.

You will get into Port 3 and see the CS prompt. Now you can change port
configurations for the TCP Communication Server.

Note: You may use the REMOTE command to manage the Comm Server on the
network, but only a subset of the standard commands are available in remote
mode. Specifically, commands used to create and manipulate sessions
are restricted.
