Title: Quick Setup Procedures for Remote NB Brouters and Bridges
Date: 09/28/90

Copyright 3Com Corporation, 1991. All rights reserved.

This procedure will help you to set up Remote NetBuilder Brouters
and Bridges quickly. Read the Brouter Commands and Parameters Guide and
Brouter Operation Guide for detailed descriptions of the Brouter. Read the
Internetwork Bridge Operation Guide for detailed descriptions of the Bridge.

1. Connect a terminal to the console port of the NetBuilder system.

2. Power on the terminal and NetBuilder, and wait for the self-test.

If NetBuilder passes self-test and "System Initialized and Running" appears
on the screen, then press Return to get the "NetLogin:" prompt.

3. Log in as "root" (use lowercase letters), and press Return for the
password. (There is no password until you assign one.)

4. When you get a prompt, type "menu" and press Return. The Main Menu
varies depending on the Brouter and Bridge software. Set the configuration
parameters as shown below.

Note: The Bridge software has no routing capabilities, so skip the IP and
XNS routing parameters when configuring a Bridge.

Note: With only one serial line, skip commands with "*".

5. Reboot the system after configuring the parameters.
