Title: Pre-Installation Host Generation For CS/1-SNA

The CS/1-SNA emulates an IBM 3274 by implementing an SDLC link
handler, a type 2 physical unit, one or more LUs for terminals (LU type
2), and one or more LUs for printers (LU type 1 or 3). The CS/1-SNA will
support up to 48 LU sessions. The controller (CS/1-SNA) and all
associated LUs must be defined properly on the host subsystem at
generation time.

When defining a 3270 device, remember the following tips:

If the CS/1-SNA you are installing is replacing a real IBM 3274, in
most cases no GROUP, LINE, or PU macros will need to be changed. You
may have to define additional LUs (terminals and printers) as you
will probably have 48 instead of the 32 supported by IBM.

CS/1-SNA must be accommodated by a dedicated SDLC link, which can be
a leased line, switched (modem), or directly attached. No multidrop
lines are allowed for this controller.

If this is a new SDLC line generation, inform the host systems
programmer that your controller should be defined as if it were a real
Remote IBM 3274 model 51c.

The LOGMODE table entry for LU type 2, which contains the session
parameters that are used to build the BIND image, should be entered as
D4C32782. This means that you are attaching a 3278 model 2 type
terminal to a 3274 model 51c.

The LOGMODE table for printers should be entered as follows: for a 3287
Data Stream Compatible (DSC) LU type 3 printer with a 2 KB buffer, use
DSC2K, and for the same device with a 4 KB buffer, use DSC4K. For a 3287
SNA Character String (SCS) LU type 1 printer, use SCS.
