Title: Caution: Netstation Backup Using 3BACKUP.EXE on Exabyte Drive

After rebooting a server and before attempting a netstation backup using
3BACKUP.EXE, it is necessary to execute a Backman command to initialize
the drive type on the Exabyte drive on the server. This is because the
3Backup command will not initialize the tape drive type if it is the first
command the 8mm drive receives. To properly prepare the drive to accept
information from the server, issue a Backman Status command to the drive,
as shown in this example:

   Net Use G: \\servername\FAMAPPS <cr>
   G: <cr>
   Backman Status \\servername\TAPE <cr>

If the drive type is not set properly on the tape drive, it is possible
for a netstation backup procedure to terminate abnormally.

After completing a nestation backup, it is also required to issue a
Backman Rewind command to the Exabyte drive so all data is flushed to tape
from the internal buffer on the tape drive. The Exabyte 8mm drive has an
internal 256 KB bytescache buffer that can still hold information after
the backup operation has completed. To ensure that all data has been
flushed from this buffer, perform a Backman Rewind \\servername\TAPE
command.
