Title: Boot Failure on a 3S/50x After Tape Installation

After performing a tape installation on a 3S/50x server and before
executing Quick Install, the server may fail to boot and the LCD
will return a CIOSYS or Share failure. If this condition occurs,
check the boot sequence by executing LASTBOOT under a console
connection and determine if there are any obvious reasons why the
boot process failed. LASTBOOT will tell you what happened when
the server was reset and frequently there will be enough clues to
quickly troubleshoot the problem.

If there are messages that indicate there was not enough memory
to execute the particular service, it is most likely that the
base memory was not set properly for the 3S/50x server. To verify
the amount of base memory selected, hold down the reset and select
buttons on the front panel of the server. Release reset, then release
select. The LCD will display:

    A. Boot Method
    Select or Cont

Press the Continue button and the LCD will display:

    B. Base Memory Size
    Select or Cont

Press the Select button and view the amount of memory that the
LCD displays. If you press the Continue button, other values
will be displayed and the value with the "*" next to it will be
the default setting for base memory. For a 3+Share network
operating system, make sure that 896K is selected.

Once the proper base memory has been selected, the server will be
able to boot and allow you to run Quick Install, which enables the
services on your network.
