Title: Problems with 3+ Backup 1.5.2 on 3S/20x or 3Server3
Date: 12/27/90

After installing 3+ 1.6 on a 3Server3 or 3S/200-series server, you may have
problems with 3+ Backup 1.5.2, which was included in the release. Reported
problems include, but are not limited to, unsuccessful Restore operations
and tape directory difficulties.

3+ Backup 1.5.2 was designed to add support for the Exabyte tape drive
system; therefore, it works reliably only on 3S/400- and 3S/500-series
servers.

Because all other functions of 3+ 1.6 are compatible with 3+Backup 1.5,
3Com recommends that you replace 3+Backup 1.5.2 with 3+Backup 1.5 on your
3Server3s and 3S/200-series servers. If you do not already have a copy of
3+Backup 1.5, you can download it from the Ask3Com Forum, Patches and Fixes
library. All required files, including TDRIVE.SYS and a ReadMe file, are
archived in the file BACK15.ZIP and can be unarchived with PKUNZIP.EXE.

Identifying 3Server3s and 3S/200-Series Servers:

Original 3Server3s and 3S/200-series servers have a gray case. You must
remove the front panel to access the thumbwheel switch and pushbuttons. The
pushbuttons are located across the front of the top cover.

You may have a 3Server that has been upgraded to a 3Server3. It has a dark
tan case. You must remove the front panel to access the thumbwheel switch
and pushbuttons. The pushbuttons are located directly below the LCD.
Upgraded 3Servers (that is, 3Server3s) have separate Ethernet transceiver
boards; non-upgraded 3Servers plug the Ethernet connector directly into the
motherboard.
