Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) sells a product called Open Desk Top (ODT)
version 1.1.0. It ships with SCO Xenix System 5 version 3.2, LAN Manager
X client, NFS, Ingres database, X-Windows server/client, and TCP/IP NetBIOS.

ODT allows the Xenix client to NET USE sharenames on a 3+Open LAN Manager
server running TCP or NetBIOS.

The Xenix ODT user can SHARE a file with a DOS LAN Manager client. ODT
supports "locking protocol," allowing a Xenix process to lock a record or
file on a 3+Open LAN Manager server which is acknowledged by a DOS LAN
Manager client. The DOS client can be using TCP, XNS, or NBP. The 3+Open
LAN Manager server must run TCP/IP NetBIOS; it can also load XNS or NBP for
DOS memory-hungry clients.

When defining the setup for the Xenix client, make the following changes:

1. Define the Ethernet card and IP address.

2. In the directory \ETC\DEFAULT\, change the NB.CONF file parameter
"scope" to read SCOPE="" , which actually defines scope to be a null.

3. Define the net mask as all ones (1s).

4. Change the default net mask from 255.255.0.0 to 255.255.255.0.

5. Change the last three digits of your IP broadcast address to 255; for
example, from 128.247.114.001 to 128.247.114.255.
