Title: Causes of Interrupt 6 Errors During 3+Backup Operations

Interrupt 6 is a processor error meaning "Invalid op code." With
3+ software, the error shows up as "Interrupt 6" or "Unexpected
s/w int NNnnnn:nnnn."

The server has received a spurious interrupt, where "NN" is the
interrupt number. For software interrupts, "nnnn:nnnn" is the
segment:offset address from which the interrupt has occurred.
Possible causes of the error include file corruption, incorrect
software versions on server, inadequate free space in the C:
partition, or incorrect parameters settings in the server
software.

The BACK_LOG.x may show the errors or they may appear on the
server LCD. To solve the problem, enter 3Console and run a check
disk on each partition. Sometimes the error requires
reinstalling the system software.

Before 3+Backup 1.2.1, most Interrupt 6 messages that appeared
while booting a 3Server or 3Server3 resulted from terminating a
tape restore before it was done. A problem in the backup code
caused the active restoring files on the hard disk to be left
truncated to zero length, with none of the data restored. If the
restore is a full restore and is terminated immediately, the
3BIO.COM file gets damaged.
