The 3+Open Technical Reference Manual mentions that if a DOS LAN Manager
netstation sets the LOGINLIBRARY= parameter in the PROTOCOL.INI file,
XNSTP section, to NO, that you can reduce the memory requirements by
approximately 7 KB.

The Login Library Cache Manager (LGL) is used by XNS to process three-part
clearinghouse names (name:domain:organization). It is required if there
is any NetBIOS access from a workstation to a 3+ server (such as 3F
or 3P linking) or if any access is required to XNS services (such as
3+ or 3+Open Mail). It is not required if no XNS-specific applications
are run and only 3+Open servers are accessed.

Once you set LOGINLIBRARY=NO, you must run MINSES.EXE instead of
MINSES12.EXE. The LGL code also contains the Minses INT2A/2F interface.
Discarding LGL means discarding this interface as well.

If you set LOGINLIBRARY=NO without switching to MINSES.EXE (that is,
you attempt to continue using MINSES12.EXE), you will get a SYSTEM ERROR
when SETNAME is executed.

Using MINSES.EXE with LOGINLIBRARY=NO will save approximately 7 KB of
DOS application RAM. MINSES.EXE can be found in the DOS driver
directories \3OPEN\DOSDRV\PROT\NBP\ and \3OPEN\DOSDRV\PROT\DLC\ on a
3+Open server.
