During an installation of Maxess 1.2.1, a Trans14 error appeared on the
workstation screen when receiving a file from the host. This article
explains one possible solution for the Trans14 error.

The customer was able to "Send" a file from the workstation PC to
the host. When trying to "Receive" a file from the host, the
error "Trans14 Error reading file from host: File Transfer
Cancelled" would appear on the workstation screen.

The Trans14 error occurs when the File Transfer is cancelled
by hitting the Attention Key or by the host's File Transfer program
detecting an error during the Receive.

In this setup the gateway configuration seemed to be fine.
The normal startup of the gateway was occurring -SNRM, UA, ACTPU,
ACTLU, BIND, SDT, etc. A trace was taken and information was
coming down the line fine.

The next step was to check the workstation and it was
discovered the user didn't have write capability to the logical
drive that was receiving the file. The file was redirected to be
received on the a: drive of the workstation and the problem was
solved.
