IEEE 802.3 and Xerox Ethernet specifications require that data and
packets contain an integral number of octets (bytes) after the
preamble. If, at the end of a frame (when carrier is lost), there
are remaining bits less than 8, this is referred to as a dribble
error. Normally this will also result in an FCS error (Frame Check
Sequence). If both errors are present, it is also considered an
Alignment Error.

What causes a dribble error? It could be a bad transmitter or it
can also be something wrong with the cable that is causing the
package to lose a bit.
