Title: 3+Open Backup Message: "Server Disk Not Avail. for Remote Access"
Date: 12/27/89

On a 3+Open Backup server, the message "Server disk is not
available for remote access" may appear when you attempt to
create a tape sharename or when you search for a tape sharename
that should have already been created.

The message may be caused by an inactive tape service, or an
inactive TAPE.OS2 driver statement in the CONFIG.SYS file, or
by attempting to add a tape sharename when one already exists.

To solve the problem, type NET START at any OS/2 prompt to make
sure that the tape service is running. If it is not started,
use 3SIS to install or enable it. Also, check the CONFIG.SYS
file for the TAPE.OS2 driver statement. If there is a "REM"
in front of the statement to make it inactive, remove the "REM",
put a tape in the tape drive, and reboot the server.

Finally, type NET ADMIN then select View and This Server, to
make sure that the tape sharename is listed.
