To make a remote user startup disk, follow these steps:

1. Create two blank formatted diskettes, one formatted with the /s
    option.

2. Make sure you have a remote USER diskette available.

3. Type MAKEDISK A: to run MAKEDISK from the applications (apps)
    directory.

You will be asked if you want to install full NetBIOS. If
you need full NetBIOS, install it. The program will begin
copying files from the apps directory to drive A and then
will ask for the remote user diskette in drive B and copy
files from it to the disk in drive A. This disk will be the
startup disk that loads the drivers.

You will then be asked for a second diskette.

4. For the second diskette, repeat step 3 above to create the
necessary files for logging in and out of the network, 3f, 3p
    and 3n only.

5. List a directory of the files on the startup disk to make
    sure it looks like this:

Volume in drive A has no label
    Directory of A:\

    COMMAND COM 25332 9-16-87 12:00p
    3DRIVERS <DIR> 6-06-89 4:48p
    NB COM 7392 10-17-86 9:26a
    MINSES EXE 1551 1-27-86 2:15p
    MSREDIR EXE 23878 9-17-86 12:55p
    SETNAME EXE 13234 4-27-87 5:32p
    PRTSC EXE 1176 6-03-85 4:10p
    3R EXE 30152 4-10-87 1:17p
    PROFILE SYS 474 2-04-86 3:05p
    CONFIG SYS 197 6-06-89 5:06p
    AUTOEXEC BAT 219 6-06-89 5:06p
        11 File(s) 661504 bytes free

If you selected full NETBIOS, you would see NETBIOS instead
of NB and MINSES12 instead of MINSES on the first disk.

6. List a directory of the files on the second disk to make sure
    it looks like this:

Volume in drive A has no label
    Directory of A:\

    LOGIN EXE 35904 11-17-87 12:15p
    LOGOUT EXE 12762 11-17-87 2:42p
    3F EXE 47220 11-17-87 11:07a
    3P EXE 58578 11-17-87 10:55a
    3N EXE 88332 5-11-88 4:00p
        5 File(s) 685568 bytes free

Depending upon your situation, you may need to change some
parameters in your CONFIG.SYS file to properly use your remote
startup disk.
