When reconfiguring EtherSeries printer configuration:

Before reconfiguring:

   SERIAL.LST  = P
   PRINTER.LST = STANDARD PRINTER:
   RESET1      =
   TYPE1       = STANDARD PRINTER

First reconfiguration:

1. Installed "ANYPRINTER" as serial printer 1.

2. Tried to install HP LaserJet as printer 2; the system
would not allow this.

Second reconfiguration:

1. Installed "Qume Sprint 5" as "Qume" as printer 1

2. Installed "HP LaserJet" as "HP LaserJet" as printer 2

    SERIAL.LST  = P S
    PRINTER.LST = QUME:  HP LASERJET:
    RESET1      =
    RESET2      = l14c1e7.64c66f
    TYPE1       = QUME SPRINT 5
    TYPE2       = HP LASERJET

Third reconfiguration:  (the significant one)

1. Installed "HP LaserJet" as "HP LaserJet" as printer 1

2. Installed "Qume Sprint 5" as "Qume" as printer 2

    SERIAL.LST  = S S
    PRINTER.LST = HP LASERJET:  QUME:
    RESET1      = l14c1e7.64c66f
    RESET2      =
    TYPE1       = HP LASERJET
    TYPE2       = QUME SPRINT 5

When I then reconfigured with the Qume as printer 1 and the
LaserJet as printer 2, it set the same parameters as the 1st
reconfiguration - notably SERIAL.LST = P S.

Then when I did one more reconfiguration to make the HP LaserJet
printer 1 and the Qume printer 2, I got the info in the 3rd
reconfiguration above with SERIAL.LST = S S.

I then went in and reconfigured with the Qume as printer 1 and
"ANYPRINTER" as serial printer 2. This gave me a SERIAL.LST of:
P  S 2400,N,8,1 (with parameters I set).
At long last, reconfiguring one more time with the "ANYPRINTER"
as printer 1 and Qume as printer 2 I got a SERIAL.LST of:
S 2400,N.8,1  S.

So it appears that if you configure a parallel printer as
printer 1 and a serial printer as printer 2, and then reconfigure
the serial printer as printer 1 and the parallel printer as
printer 2, it does not properly change the SERIAL.LST file to
show the parallel printer (printer 2) as being parallel.
