Title: LaserJet Series II interface problems

The first 10,000 units shipped have a parallel interface that is
marginal with respect to a particular timing signal. (The Series
II comes with both Serial and parallel interfaces.)

At the same time, certain parallel I/O boards, INCLUDING THE
PARALLEL I/O CIRCUIT ON THE 3SERVER3, are also marginal or
substandard and the two will not work together. It appears
that data is being properly communicated between the host and
the printer. However, the output, will all have been condensed onto
one (therefore very dark) line on the first page.

HP is fixing the printers that have this problem. If you have one that
is suspect, contact HP (be sure to have your serial number so they can
verify that you do have one of the first 10,000 printers).
