Title: Appletalk (Localtalk) zones
Date: 7/7/88

When using 3+ with AppleTalk zones the following problems occur:

Logging in with standard 3+ startup floppy, you are not able
to access a 3Server in another appletalk zone. This server is
accessible by using the chooser.

3+Mac does not use or recognize AppleTalk zones. Instead, it uses the
3+Name and NetConnect services to access devices on extended networks.
Normally AppleTalk zones are used with AppleTalk bridges
(each side of a bridge will be given a zone name). We have not fully
implemented the AppleTalk protocols that would permit a user to access a
server from across a bridge. Thus, if a user is trying to access a
server in a different zone on the other side of a bridge, it won't be
possible. This restriction is scheduled to be removed in a client side
software release scheduled for this summer (1988).
