Title: Running 3+ on a Macintosh 512Ke

3Com does not officially support the following solution, but you are
welcome to try it.

The 3+Mac works on a 512Ke for most applications - it's only a
question of the amount of memory we take permanently at
startup, and the amount we need within the application to open
up 3+File from the Chooser within an application. In any case,
one of three things will occur:

    - The application simply will not run on a 512Ke after 3+Mac
      has been installed.
    - The application runs fine, but you cannot bring up 3+File
from the Chooser within the application. The workaround
here is to only bring up 3+File from the Finder, or, if for
some reason that does not work, from 3+Icon Giver.
    - Everything will work fine.

In any case, you should never lose data or crash your Mac.
However, it's always possible that there
are applications (and these would be applications which do not
run under Switcher) which assume that they have at least 512K to
work with, but which don't have problems with the lesser amount
of memory that they have with 3+Mac installed until some later
point in the program (say, while you're trying to save a file).
I know of no such programs, and certainly all newer programs will
not have this kind of problem, because they are all designed to
run under Switcher, but it cannot be guaranteed that such a
program doesn't exist.
