The following summarizes our tests on preconfigured
services for 3+ for Macintosh. Also you will find a study of all
3+ for Macintosh components and the approximate memory requirements
of each for those customers that will want to custom-tailor their
services.

Below is the matrix which displays the five standard configurations.
(Note: These have been updated to include the ACP3.sys driver of 36 KB
with 3+Route.)

             CONFIGURATIONS
                     1 2 3 4 5

    3+Name X X X X
    3+Share X X X X X
    Mac Service X X X X X
    3+NetConnect X X X X X
    3+Mail X X
    3+Backup X
    3+Route X

These have been tested and fit into memory.

Here is a list of approximately what each service uses for those admins
that want to create a configuration not included above.

MS-DOS with Drivers: 243 Kbytes

CIOSYS:
        For drives C:, D:, E: sharing 20 buffers: 99 Kbytes
        For drives C:, D:, E: sharing 30 buffers: 124 Kbytes
        For drives C:, D:, E: sharing 48 buffers: 161 Kbytes
        For drives C:, D:, E: sharing 60 buffers: 185 Kbytes

3+Share:
For 8 users with balanced parameters: 135 Kbytes
For 15 users with balanced parameters: 158 Kbytes

Macintosh Service:
        With 4 threads: 86 Kbytes
        With 7 threads: 110 Kbytes

3+Name: With 5 Domains and 20 buffers: 128 Kbytes

3+NetConnect: With 8 buffers: 27 Kbytes

3+NetConnect with 3+Route: With 8 buffers, 44 Kbytes (3+Route requires
the ACP3.SYS driver adding 36 Kbytes)

3+Mail: With 2 mail server processes: 115 Kbytes

3+Backup:  58 Kbytes (there must be a minimum of 34 CIOSYS buffers;
   TDRIVE.SYS also adds 4 Kbytes to MS-DOS)

3+Locator: 36 Kbytes

3+Start: 34 Kbytes

Use the above as approximate memory requirements to get a rough
idea of which services together would fit on a 3Server or
3Server3. Remember that if you add the Cache Card to a 3Server3
the memory (except for a couple of Kbytes) required for CIOSYS
buffers becomes available for additional services.
