Q: We have an AT server that continually fails backup. In checking
into it we found that always a few files were corrupted, so we
deleted the files, and backup would run. Shortly, the backup
would fail again, and the process kept repeating. Finally we went
into the disk with Norton's DT and found 5 sectors that were
MARKED as bad. DOS will not use them, as they are marked in the
FAT as being bad sectors. However, CIOSYS seems to ignore the
markings and assigns the sectors anyway. We actually checked in
the FAT table and these 5 sectors are marked as bad, but we find
the entries in the directory with pointers that are garbage
numbers.

A: Upgrade to 1.2 release. The problem does not occur in this
release.
