3S/40X servers use a small computer system interface (SCSI)
to communicate with the disk and tape drives. The SCSI ID
identifies drives to the server. Each drive must have a unique
SCSI ID so the server can distinguish one drive from another. The
3S/40X uses the following SCSI ID numbers:

     SCSI ID Used For
     ------- -------------------------------
2 Base unit's original disk drive
       3 Second disk drive
       4 Third disk drive
       5 Fourth disk drive
       6 Fifth disk drive
       7 Motherboard
       1 Sixth disk drive
       0 Tape drive

The 150 MB disk drive that comes pre-installed in the base unit is
set to SCSI ID 2. The 150 MB disk drive option is shipped with
SCSI ID set to 3.
