DOS netstations cannot execute programs that reside in execute-only
sharenames. DOS requires read access to open a program file for
execution. Thus, all sharenames that DOS users will access must have
at least read permission. If you try to execute a program in an
execute-only sharename, you will get an "access denied" error message.

For more information, see DOS internal call 3DH in an IBM DOS Technical
Reference Manual.
