Running diagnostics on the Maxess SDLC card with the program
MONITOR, the following error message often appears on the
gateway's monitor:

    SDLC Address Recognition.+
    7211 Interrupt error -- exp: 258 Act:130.+
    7221 Interrupt error -- exp: 258 Act:132.+.+

Before assuming the Maxess board is bad, reboot the PC with plain
vanilla DOS and run the diagnostics again. To run the
diagnostics, follow these steps:

1. Insert the Maxess Gateway Manager Program diskette that
contains MONITOR.COM into the A: drive.

2. Type MONITOR and press <cr>.

3. When prompted to enter the desired diagnostic name, type
    MAXESS and press <cr>.

4. Select option 1) Run Diagnostic Program and press <cr>.

5. Select option 5) All tests and press <cr>.

6. Press <cr> twice to accept defaults for testing and number of
    passes.

The board should now pass diagnostics. If the error still
occurs, check the interrupt settings on your network card and
Maxess gateway card, or remove the network card and run the
diagnostics again according to the steps shown above. If there
are no conflicts after five minutes, the board will pass
diagnostics.
