There is no description given for the SINGLERCVBUF= entry that appears in
the LANMAN.INI file for an Enhanced DOS LAN Manager workstation. This is an
omission in the documentation. The description should read as follows:

SINGLERCVBUF: "Set Single Receive Buffer"

This field can be used when receiving data from a
remote server. Its purpose is to eliminate
retransmission problems caused by various network
transports. Ordinarily, it is set to 0 (zero).

In general, you do not need to change SINGLERCVBUF from its default setting,
because otherwise it may slow the DOS Enhanced redirector. (Do NOT change
the setting if you are using any 3Com transport protocols.)

However, in the case of certain transport protocols that may suffer from
retransmission problems, you may want to change the default value. If the
value of SINGLERCVBUF is not zero, then the set value will be used as the
buffer size by the DOS Enhanced redirector. Therefore, make the SINGLERCVBUF
value at least as large as the server's buffer size, to eliminate unnecessary
retransmissions.
