Title: Receiving Multiple Mail Messages When Only One was Sent

Problem: A mail message is sent, and the user would get an error
from our server that the message was not delivered, but would
then receive multiple messages. The Name server was 1.2, the
other services including Route were 1.1. In this case, the fix
was to upgrade all servers to 1.2.

Although different versions of 3+ are ok on different servers, it
is always best to have the whole net running the latest software.

Another common reason for receiving multiple msgs is because a
person's name may be in several "groups" on different networks.
3+ Mail recognizes if the same letter is destined for the same
name within one name service, but across internetworks, letters
may be delivered multiple times because each name service
addresses a different envelope.
