I'm communicating to my remote network from my PC at home. I'm
going through my manual, and almost every time I issue a network
command, my internal modem redials and re-establishes the remote
connection. Why isn't the connection being maintained?

A. You're reading too slow. Check your workstation and server
profile file. Your timeout parameter is set too low. If your
timeout is set at 1 minute, your connection is broken after one
minute of non-phone line activity. Upon the next issuance of a
network command, the connection is being re-established. You can
either increase your timeout parameter, or enter commands more
quickly.
