Title: Difference between a session and a link

A link is made to a server each time a netstation
performs a 3F link to a sharename on that server. If a
netstation performs two 3F links to two sharenames on one server,
you have now established two independent links; however, you are
maintaining ONE session. Think of a session as a communication
path to a server. Several links can be processed over one server
session.
