What is the meaning of the 3+ sharename access right of /SHAR?

A. This access right allows users of a sharename to create sub-
level sharenames. In other words, if you link to a sharename
with the /SHAR access right, you may then create subdirectories
(and sharenames) beneath this directory with more sharenames.
This access right, though, may cause tremendous strain on network
admin services. The question is "What happens to sub-level
sharenames if the upper-level sharename is removed?" The answer
is basically-- unpredictable results. It is understood that this
access right is sometimes needed, and so 3Com provides it,
however, if at all possible, this access right should be avoided.
