Title: 3+ and 3+Open Token Drivers

The 3+Open token ring drivers (located in the 3OPEN\DOSWKSTA\LANMAN\DRIVERS
directory) follow an IEEE addressing standard that differs from 3+ drivers.
Because of this, a combined 3+Open and 3+ token network will not interoperate
unless 3+ netstations and servers are upgraded to drivers which are compatible
and conform to the IEEE standards. The 3+Open drivers will also work
with 3+; in fact, they are required to run 3+ token ring in a 3+Open
environment.

The IEEE-standard drivers have the letter B at the end of the file name:

TOK603B.SYS (driver for the TokenLink)
TOK605B.SYS (driver for the TokenLink+)
TOK1060B.SYS (driver for the token PEB)
TOKIBMB.SYS (driver for the IBM token ring card)

All clients and servers must use either the "B" or non-"B" drivers. The
"B" version of the drivers are the same as the non-"B" version, except they
do not do local or global address conversion in transmitted and received
packets. The non-"B" versions are for a 3+ XNS environment only. You cannot
mix them on any network.

To upgrade your 3+ computers with the new drivers, copy the new driver
to the appropriate directory of the computer's boot volume. Then
modify the CONFIG.SYS file to replace the old file name entry.
