Occasionally, problems appear on a server that can be worked around by
rebooting the server regularly. (For example, problems that appear to be
due to running out of some resource.) Manually rebooting the server can
be inconvenient for the system administrator, because it should be done
when users are not on the system.

On the Ask3Com forum, Unsupported Utilities library, is an archived file
called ATBOOT.ZIP. It contains the installation batch files and executable
files necessary to automatically reboot 3+Open servers every morning Monday
through Saturday at 3:00 AM (as set up by default -- the day and time can be
modified to suit your needs).

Following is the READ.ME file included with these files that explains
how to install this automatic reboot capability on your 3+Open server:

AUTOMATICALLY REBOOTING A 3+OPEN SERVER EVERY DAY

To install this "automatic reboot" 'AT' script, do the following:

1. From an OS/2 or (Enhanced) DOS workstation, link the server's drive
C: to an available drive letter (such as X:).

2. Place the files included with this READ.ME file in a convenient
directory (such as H:).

3. Run ATINSTALL as follows:

    ATINSTAL h: x:

4. Establish a NET ADMIN ... /C session with the server where the
automatic reboot system will be installed, as follows:

    NET ADMIN \\server /C

The server will prompt you, showing its name within brackets.

5. Run the 'ATSETUP' batch file to establish your 'AT' schedule:

    ATSETUP

(You may edit the ATSETUP.CMD file to change the defined reboot time.
As provided, the boot time is 3:00 AM, Monday through Saturday. After
installation, this file may be found in C:\3OPEN\SERVER\LANMAN\NETPROG.
To change the schedule after it has been used one or more times,
delete the old AT schedule before running ATSETUP again.)

You may type AT from the NET ADMIN ... /C session to verify that
the desired AT schedule has been properly accepted by the server.

6. Type Ctrl-Z when done to return to the normal workstation mode.
