To change a 3+ server's name, follow the steps below. (The procedure
does not cover the case of multiple domains on a network.)

CAUTION: This procedure requires you to delete (rename) your Shrlist
and Name Database. Proceed at your own risk!

1. Get a complete listing of all users in the Name Service, including
the name of their Home Directory, the location of their Home Directory
(which partition), the name of their Mail Server, a listing of all of
the Shares (users and servers), and your Network Number.

2. Make a 3Console connection and edit the S_NAME file in the \3PLUS
directory to the three-part name you want. Be careful to edit only the
first line. The second line in this file is the encrypted password of the
Server User.

3. Rename NS_DOM.000 to something without a DOM or .### in it.

4. Copy NS_DEF.DOM from the 3Name subdirectory of the Name Service
diskette to the \3PLUS\3NAME directory.

5. Run 3NAMCK /I in the \3PLUS\3CONFIG directory and enter in the same
Network Number as the net previously had. This recreates NS_DOM.000 with
the Server User and ADMIN.

6. Rename SHRLIST to SHRLIST.OLD in the \3PLUS\3SHARE directory.

7. Reboot the server.

8. Log in as Admin and add all of the users using the SAME home directory
names and locations (partitions).

9. Log in as the Server User and share all of the devices and directories
that were shared before.

10. Log in as each user and recreate all of the shares they had previously.
