The EtherLink Plus (3C505) adapter is not an option to choose from in
Netsetup when installing LAN Manager 1.1 on a PC server. Use the following
steps to allow you to configure a PC server for a 3C505 adapter.

1. Install LAN Manager 1.1 using Netsetup and stop when you get to the
Protocols screen.

2. Choose <Local Loopback driver>.

Choosing Local Loopback driver will allow you to boot the PC without
actually binding any protocol to the network adapter; this is necessary
to run 3SIS.

3. Reboot the PC server.

4. Run the 3SIS program from the 1.1F MUD (Maintenance Update disk #1)
from drive A.

If you do not have a 1.1F diskette, use a patched version of the 3C505 driver
from the Ask3Com forum, Patches and Fixes library. The patched version
supports the 3C505 adapter at higher interrupt and DMA settings than on the
1.1E update diskette.

5. From 3SIS, choose the target server. Select <Install a Service> and
the menu will display <Maintenance Update 1.1f installation>. Proceed with
the update.

6. Exit 3SIS and run Netsetup from your hard disk.

Now the modified Netsetup will have the 3C505 network adapter driver in
the Adapters section.

7. Finish the Netsetup procedure, then reboot your server.
