DARK FORCES IMPERIAL STARFIGHTERS

The 3D engine in Dark Forces allows for moving, 3D, texture mapped objects. Even though these are purely
'eye candy' and have no effect on game play, they do greatly enhance the atmosphere. It's surprising that
LucasArts didn't utilize this more fully in the original game.

This file contains 4 new 3D objects for Dark Forces, including:
	TIE Bomber (ver. 1.3)
	TIE Interceptor (ver. 1.1)
	TIE Advanced (ver. 1.0)
	TIE Defender (ver. 1.1)

This file is to be distributed at NO charge. Please do not modify these files without consent of the
developer.

Included in this file:
	TIEBOMB.3DO
	TIEINT.3DO
	TIEADV.3DO
	TIEDEF.3DO
	Readme.txt (this file)

There are two ways to use these 3D objects in the original levels of Dark Forces:

Method #1:
	1) Copy the 4 .3DO files to your Dark Forces directory (usually C:\Dark)
	2) Rename the appropriate file as TIELO-3.3DO
	3) This will cause the DF loader to load this file instead of the TIELO-3.3DO file contained in
		DARK.GOB
	4) Now, anytime in the game that you would normally see a TIE Fighter (only in the Executor level
in the original game), you'll now see either a TIE Bomber, Interceptor, Advanced, or Defender,
depending on which file you renamed

Method #2:
	1) Use UNGOB.EXE to extract all of the files out of DARK.GOB
	2) Ensure that the EXECUTOR.O file is in your Dark Forces directory
	3) Change line 12 of the EXECUTOR.O file from TIELO-3.3DO to TIEBOMB.3DO (for a TIE Bomber) or
TIEDEF.3DO (for a TIE Defender), etc.
	4) Play the Executor level as normal, except that now the TIE Fighter has been replaced by the
		starfighter of your choice

Use in homemade levels:
Use similar to method #2. If you have questions, EMail me.

Notes:
1) The texture used for the wings of these starfighters is the same as the original TIE fighter in the game.
This scheme does not exactly match other versions of these starfighters (from XWing or the movies),
	but it looks good nonetheless.
2) The scale used for all of these models is half-sized. That's right... half-sized. This is the same scale
as the original TIE Fighetr in the game.
3) Be careful when you use these in homemade levels. More than 2 or 3 on the screen at one time will really
slow the action down (especially the TIE Defender and TIE Bomber).
4) Try using the following logic:
		SEQ
		     RADIUS: 8
		SEQEND
This will allow you to shoot the starfighters. OK... you can't actually damage them, but they look
	like they're taking hits.
5) If you use these in homemade levels that you crfeate and distribute, please give me credit in your 'Readme'
	file.
