PERFECT is a UI research effort oriented to supercomputers and parallel
processing. It seeks real applications. A license agreement is needed,
but it is free.

You can retrieve documentation and the codes via ftp from ftp.csrd.uiuc.edu
in directory pub/perfect/version1 or you can get them via tape.

The file codes.tar.Z contains the Perfect Benchmarks codes as described in the
documentation file docu.tar.Z. The file codes.tar.Z can only be accessed with a
password obtained from CSRD. You need to sign a license agreement, which can
be found in file first_info.tar.Z

The file diaries.tar.Z contains all of the diaries for the version 1 Perfect
Benchmarks suite that are available on-line at CSRD. There are more diaries
available, but they are hardcopy only.

The file preliminary.ps.Z contains the preliminary data for the Perfect
Benchmarks version 1 codes which was distributed at the meeting at
Supercomputing '92.

File parallel_codes.tar.Z contains the Perfect codes that have been optimized
for the Alliant FX80 multiprocessor by the Cedar Fortran group at CSRD. The
codes are written in Cedar Fortran. A language description can be found in
report CSRD_Info/reports/1157. Direct questions about these codes to
eigenman@csrd.uiuc.edu. The parallel codes can be retrieved with the same
password mechanism as for the original codes.

For a list of publications that relate to the Perfect Benchmarks see file
perfect_bibliography.ps.Z
