What is the ACA?

An All-breed, International canine registry. ACA has established its
own conformation titles and also recognizes lineage and conformation
titles established and obtained by, and from, other registries and
breed clubs. ACA recognizes all of the established "standard breeds"
as well as many of the "rare breeds". In addition, ACA places emphasis
on tracking, recording and including in the registration information,
many genetic health certifications with regards to hips, elbows, eyes,
heart, thyroid and VWD blood testing, etc. Also, breed specific
genetic health problems can be tracked. Members of participating breed
clubs may have their logo and motto included on Registration
Certificates issued by ACA. For additional information, send E-Mail
to: E. James Zettlemoyer, Regional Director, at EZETT@AOL.COM.

A Brief History

Since 1984 the staff of American Canine Association, Inc. have been
tracking and monitoring the certified health, breeding and performance
   of canines.

In the early part of 1991 work was begun on the design and
implementation of an advanced automated system for monitoring the
health certifications as well as the conformation and working titles
of dogs. We have always maintained the philosophy that the certified
health of a dog is as important as its conformation and working
   abilities.

In the beginning of 1993 the American Canine Association, Inc.
relocated their national headquarters to Wilmington, Delaware. Since
then, the American Canine Association, Inc. has experienced an
unprecedented growth in the canine industry. Because of popular
demand, the registration of canines by American Canine Association,
   Inc. has reached international proportions.

Where are we going in the future? Plans are currently underway for the
creation of a breeder information service for consumers, as well as a
veterinary referral service for both breeders and consumers. In the
near future breeders and consumers will have "on line" computer access
to a variety of information about canine pedigrees, health,
conformation and working titles. Access will also be available for a
"locator" service, for both breeders and consumers looking for
   selective breeding criteria.

Continued national marketing, involvement in legislative efforts
concerning canines, coupled with the added coordination of
Veterinarians, breeders and canine clubs, has made the American Canine
Association, Inc. a preferred alternative or supplement to your
   current registration process.

How Do I Register?

The registration process is easy. You can start to register one, or
all of your dogs with the ACA, simply by calling us at 302-655-3746.
You may speak to a representative or leave a message in any box if a
representative is unable to take your call. Or please feel free to
write us (address below). Tell us the number of Registration
Application forms that you require. These forms are used if your dog
is already registered with another registry. You will receive the
number of PINK R-2 forms you request. You merely attach a photocopy of
your current registration certificate or registration application to
the front of the R-2, Registration Application. You may also submit
,along with these forms, any health certifications, verified
conformation and/or working titles, or points your dogs presently
have. Any identifying marks and tattoos appearing on your dog may also
be listed. After we receive your paper work, all applications will be
processed within six (6) working days. You will then receive your
Official Registration Certificate. Litter Registration forms are
automatically mailed with your Official Registration Certificates.
When you register a litter with the American Canine Association, Inc.,
you will receive a BLUE L-2, Registration Application for each puppy
in that litter. You will also receive a WHITE C-1, Customer Litter
Record. This white form indicates ownership of the sire and dam,
health certifications of the parents and grand parents, mating and
whelping information, number of males and females born... and all of
this information is filled in by our computers. Blank sections are
also provided to keep record of individuals receiving pups from the
   litter.

Why Should I Register?

Your dogs take on an added value when they are registered with the
American Canine Association, Inc. You will be able to take full
advantage of our certified health tracking system, the most
comprehensive health tracking system in the canine industry.
Certifications that eyes are free of entropia, OFA & Penn hip
certifications, heart, elbows, thyroid, etc., all appear on your dog's
Official American Canine Association, Inc. Registration Certificate.
Your dog's Official Registration Certificate, which is suitable for
framing, can be prominently displayed in your home or kennel. Your
certificates will clearly give testimony to your clients that you take
pride in the quality of your breeding stock and litters.

Your dogs and their pedigrees will retain all current conformation and
working titles they have earned. The titles established by other
registries are honored by American Canine Association, Inc. and will
appear on your dog's Official Registration Certificate, as well as
your dog's lineage. Additional titles established by the American
Canine Association, Inc. can also be earned, and will be added to your
   certificate.

All paperwork is routinely processed and mailed within six (6) days of
receipt. This enables you to keep on top of the paperwork that
accompanies the sale of your dogs. Papers will not get lost or
forgotten because of untimely processing procedures. Every attempt is
made on our part to resolve discrepancies, questions and
misunderstandings, with regard to registrations applications, so that
little or no time is lost in returning your registrations.

In addition to timely processing, our computers take care of much of
your Canine's paper work by producing your Customer Litter Record
form. Our computers fill in the following information on your Customer
Litter Record forms; ownership of the sire and dam, all health
certifications, mating and whelping information, number of males and
females registered, and spaces for you to indicate the names and
addresses of individuals purchasing pups from your litter.

In the unfortunate circumstance of a catastrophic event (such as fire
or flood) all your dogs' breeding and litter records will be replaced
for you at no charge. When you register your dogs and litters with us,
our computers will quickly replicate all of the information you need
to help you back on your feet after a disaster. In a time of need,
we're happy that we can help and provide this service to you free of
   charge.

More information about your dogs is retained by us than by any other
registries. In addition to tracking health certifications on hips,
eyes, heart, elbows, thyroid, etc., and recognizing both national and
international conformation and working titles. We also record any
identifying marks and tattoos on your dogs. This makes ownership
easier to confirm in the case of loss or theft. All of this
information is clearly indicated on your dog's Official Registration
   Certificate.

American Canine Association, Inc. does not put time restraint on
individual dog or litter registrations. Although we encourage prompt
and timely registration, you may register previous litters and dogs
(or "back register") for as many generations as you desire.

Our quarterly Newsletter will help you stay informed. Keeping track of
"what's happening" with legislation, trends, sales, shows, etc. is
easy to do when you, as a registered breeder, receive our quarterly
   Newsletter, "American News."

All-breed recognition provides a single registry for breeders of
"rare" as well as commonly accepted breeds. For those rare breeds that
are registered only with individual club organizations, the American
Canine Association, Inc. provides a professional registry that can be
"custom tailored" to fit the requirements of any rare breed club.

American Canine Association, Inc. is answering the changing
requirements of the dog world. As technology and legislation are
rapidly influencing the demands of today's breeders and consumers, we
are here to assist you in keeping up to date and moving ahead.
