This is a weekly posting. The subject line will never change (although
the contents may), so if you don't want to see this, you can put it in
a kill file. For you new readers, this post lists all the FAQs and
various sources of information that are available for rec.pets.dogs.*
   -- please read this.

If you do not find a specific breed mentioned somewhere in here, nor
in the email list nor in the WWW list, _then I don't have any more
information_. Please don't write to me and ask if I know where there
is information on a breed not listed here or in the above resources.
If I knew of it, it would be listed! Post your question instead to
   rec.pets.dogs.breeds. Thanks.

Official FAQ's for rec.pets.dogs.*

("Official" simply means that the faqs are crossposted to news.answers
   and automatically archived at rtfm.mit.edu.)

There are a number of monthly posted FAQ files that deal with dogs in
general. There are, in addition, many breed specific FAQs, and one on
fleas and ticks and another on dealing with the loss of a pet. I
maintain all of these FAQ's except for the two FAQ's on Rescue
organizations, and some of the breed faqs. For questions on the latter
two, contact Janice Ritter at ritter@ileaf.com who currently maintains
them. There is also an assortment of "unofficial" FAQ's. These are
maintained by other individuals; I have listed them in the next
section along with the contact email addresses.

These faqs are written by different readers of RPD who have experience
with the breed in question. While in many cases (not all!) I post
them. you should direct any questions to the authors of the FAQ rather
   than automatically to me.

You are encouraged to volunteer to write new breed faqs, please
contact me at rpd-info@netcom.com for details. I am happy to help you
archive the faqs properly; however, you may decide to do it yourself
or keep them offical; whatever. Please do let me know about it,
though, so I can list it here.
