The ZIPfile you've just extracted should contain:
AVDECKAR.PPE - The PCBoard extension for PCB 15.2
  AVDECLAR.TXT - This file - the manual
DECLARAT.PCB - The Register Declaration Form in PCBoard format.
AVDECLAR.DAT - The Data file. This contains all configurable data.
DRMSTATE.EXE - Dreamstate BBS Ad. Apocalyptic Vision's Home Board.

Chance's are any other files are just BBS advertisements for other boards. At
the time of release, I believe that everything is virus free, but if anything
bad happens when you run the PPE (the computer lets out its magic smoke, etc)
it's not my fault and neither myself nor Apocalyptic Visions will accept any
responsibility. All hate mail to be sent to Bill Gates.

What is AVDECLAR.PPE?
---------------------
It's a replacement New User Registration Declaration PPE. It replaces
PCBoard prompt #54 with a customisable ANSi screen, complete with changeable
responses and positioning of input. OK, so its nothing spectacular, but we
needed one for Dreamstate, so why not distribute it? }8-)

How do you install AVDECLAR.PPE?
--------------------------------
I have only compiled AVDECLAR.PPE for version 15.2 of PCBoard, as this is
what Dreamstate is now running. If you want a version for 15.1, just drop me
a line and I'll recompile it for 15.1.
OK, assuming you're running PCB 15.2, and you're using the stock standard
pathnames etc.
    1) Open up your PCBTEXT file with MKPCBTXT.EXE
       (eg. C:\PCB\MKPCBTXT C:\PCB\GEN\PCBTEXT )
    2) Go to prompt number 54 and change it to !C:\PCB\PPE\AVDECLAR.PPE
(if the path for AVDECLAR.PPE is different, just alter it to suit)
All done! Make sure that all the files for AVDECLAR.PPE are in the same
directory, if it's missing necessary files it will mess up.

Customising AVLOGOFF
--------------------
You may change the declaration screen to suit your BBS, merely open up
DECLARAT.PCB with PCBEdit, TheDraw or similar and modify it. If you change
the location that the prompt needs to be put in, you will need to modify the
AVDECLAR.DAT file.
AVDECLAR.DAT file can be edited with most editors, however if you use
TheDraw be warned - TheDraw adds PCB colour codes or ansi codes all over the
place and you will need to specifically save the file as an ASCII file.
Actually altering of AVDECLAR.DAT is pretty simple, and there are
instructions within the file. You can modify the word that is treated as "Yes",
the location the prompt is put at, and whether or not enter is treated as
a yes. The length of the prompt is automatically adjusted to be large enough
for your "Yes" response.

What is Apocalyptic Visions?
----------------------------
Apocalyptic Visions is an ANSi/VGA art group based out of Dreamstate BBS
in Melbourne, Australia. We're only a new group (2 packs out and a 3rd
expected on Feburary 1st (we hope)), and this is only my second PPE, so we're
still getting started. Give us time, check out the packs, and we should get
going pretty well.
    Apocalyptic Visions Members are currently:

Oh, I can be contacted on Dreamstate BBS. Current number is +61-3-877-0408,
but it'll be changing within the next month. Jesta, who owns the equipment, is
going to Japan for a couple of years and it's being moved to my place. Only
problem is I need to get a new line, poota, modem, etc so all in all the system
will be down for a while. Notices will be posted around when we go online again.
See the Feburary AV pack for more info. I can't currently be contacted by
internet as my site is down (they're swapping to a new poota too!). If you
want to contact me via the internet, try internet e-mail to:
apache@arealm.mpx.com.au - this is an address of mine, but it's an interstate
phonecall for me, so it's only checked every week or so. Don't expect a fast
reply.
