Well Berlin's cheaper than Vienna, Athens or AMS. You can't stay with
25EUR/night anywhere in AMS and have my palatial lodgings in Berlin.
And beers don't cost 3 EUR in clubs (2.5 EUR in bars). And on the
Saturday they had this 5-Club-Nacht where with 11 EUR you got a card and
could go to any five out of 30 clubs.
And now I know what's wrong with the club scene in London, coz in Berlin
they were all still enjoying it: it's the commercialisation, cynicism
and rip-offs of the (big) promoters which filtered down to the venue
owners. A cheaper, less commercial, more underground scene in Berlin
brought back memories of '98. And it's the only other place I know apart
from London with back-to-back parties from Friday night (well, many)
into Monday morning (Sage).
Goddess did I enjoy Cafe Moscow.. And I'm going back to Berlin again
soon.
Incidentally, if anyone wants to go to Berlin, bookmark
