XPost: alt.music.makers.dj From: spamme@someplace.com Mmmm - We've had no reliability issues with PCDJ in the last few years and believe me we have systems in sweaty dirty smokey environments. In the early days we had operating system agro (win 98) but never had a failure with xp/nt. I will say I was very sceptical at first but the system has proved itself time and time again. I can't speak for final scratch but we had significant failures with traktor to the point where we sacked it. Bpm studio has also been very stable. Hats off goes to PCDJ, whilst not the prettiest or most feature packed software, we just can't get it to fall over. I would say that many PC problems come from a crap mains supply and as a result all our units have a filtered UPS feeding them and running from the battery side. From a mobiles point of view it's ace. Our latest machine runs PCDJ left deck/right deck on a delta 44 soundcard (twin outs) and CDG Pro feeding its sound onto the mobo card for karaoke. All independant, best of all, the karaoke output screen comes up on a second monitor independant of the rest. Makes mobile and karaoke work sheer simplicity. That said, I'm old skool and still love to use vinyl - but I don't let technology bother me! --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
