From: mark/remove/.farmer@btinternet.com A shot in the dark I think , but does anyone in the midlands area of the uk remember a dj that worked on Beacon radio back in the late 70's early 80's...who just called himself KKJ ?? To be honest he was my main inspiration for becoming a dj, he hosted the Saturday night disco show, as it was called then! I was in my final years of high school, and joined forces with a couple of mates, bought some cheap decks, speakers and lights...FAL light boxes for the people that remember them! Then went round every pub in the area offering free disco's...well almost free, just drinks !! Now years later I am still doing it, lost contact with my mates, one works for Reuters news agency in Paris..the other I haven't got a clue! Over the years I have worked in Ibiza, Tenerife, some of the big clubs in Birmingham, but still keep coming back to the mobile disco as that's sort of where it all started for me. The job isn't really the same, years back when I was well known ..I used to get offers from all over to work, nowadays your lucky if you have one drink bought you by the people booking the party ! Anyway I'll stop going on !! If anyone remembers KKJ post your memories, it would be great if even he was reading this...his full name I think was Kris Kennedy junior. Also what are your views on the currant independent radio stations?...they all sound the same to me, the djs sound as if they are reading from a script and seem to have lost any kind of personality..wheres all the fun gone!
