I don't think he understands that lots of records (in particular bootlegs)
only have one pressing run and these tend to be on non-virgin thin &
lowgrade vinyl. Something most of us accept. I'd rather by a 'good' bad
pressed choon than not have it at all. Recent examples - Babyboy 'Rock my
world' michael jackson bootleg. Quality is awful, but it's worth suffering.
Many of these 'floors' are actually down to the mastering. For some reason
bootlegin' DJ's think they can eq and master ok on a PC and the results
are - roll the drums - shit sounding pressings, badly eq'd and bad levels.
Couple this with the accapella used having been downloaded as an mp3 and
converted and it's no wonder they are sounding worse than ever.
